UTICA, N.Y. -- Police say all clues point to a murder-suicide in the case of an estranged couple found dead in Utica last week.
Authorities were called to a South Street home late Friday night after a family member found the couple. They say the woman returned from Cambodia that day and that her ex-husband was temporarily staying at the home.
According to the preliminary medical examiner's report, the man shot the woman in the chest with a high-powered rifle, then turned the gun on himself.
Police say they were unaware of any previous domestic disputes. They have not released a possible motive for the shooting.
