WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Senior Assistant District Attorney for Jefferson County, Aaron Carr, resigned from his position Wednesday morning after he was arrested Tuesday night for a DWI, among other charges, following a reckless driving complaint.
Deputies say Carr was driving with a blood alcohol content level way above the legal limit at .32 percent. Jefferson County District Attorney Cindy Intschert sent out a release Wednesday afternoon stating that she will accept Carr's resignation.
“I expect that my staff will uphold the law and act responsibly and I believe that the community expects and demands that as well,” Intschert said.
The DA says due to a conflict of interest, she will be seeking the assignment of a special prosecutor to pursue this case.
