SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The two Syracuse University football players arrested last week on burglary and larceny charges have been dismissed from the team.
Syracuse University head coach Scott Shafer announced that defensive end Markus Pierce-Brewster and defensive tackle Davon Walls have been kicked off the team due to the violation of team rules.
Police say Pierce-Brewster and Walls stole a TV, Xbox, iPods, and Xbox games from an apartment while the owners were sleeping.
The two appeared in court on Monday to answer to Class C felony charges, which carry penalties of five to 15 years in prison if convicted.
The case has been handed to a grand jury. No future court date has been set.
