SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Catholics in Syracuse are celebrating the election of the new pope.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse held a special Mass Thursday to pray for Pope Francis. Parishioners gathered at the church just after noon for a mass to pledge their loyalty to him.
