NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Its two for two for the SU men’s basketball team in the Big East Tournament as they get a big win in the Garden over Pittsburgh.
The Orange kept fans happy in the first half leading by 13 points at halftime. The game then tightened up and finally, the Orange had enough to hold off the Panthers.
We've noticed plenty of the Orange faithful down here the last few days as the ‘Cuse plays in its final Big East Tournament before moving to the ACC. Fans are happy that SU is playing better after beating Seton Hall and now Pittsburgh the last two days.
We spoke with some excited SU fans after the game.
"Awesome, awesome. They finally played some good defense and that's what we were looking for. Offense is going to come, defense had to be there and it was there tonight," Kurt D’amico said.
Anthony Pirone said, "I was really happy. It was a great game. Pitt kept it close and Syracuse really fought really well and they got the 'W.'"
The Orange now gets another matchup with Georgetown on Friday night. And despite already falling to the Hoyas twice, fans in the city are confident in the Orange.
