MOHAWK VALLEY, N.Y. -- State Police are still investigating what led up to Kurt Myers' violent spree, but some details are starting to come out about the suspected gunman.
Police said in a news conference Thursday that Myers was an apparent loner and they couldn't identify any reasons he might try to kill people.
Myers' former boss says he worked as a machine operator in Central New York and New Hampshire until about 2006. He says Myers kept to himself and enjoyed World War II memorabilia, but Steve Copperwheat says he recently ran into a very changed Kurt Myers.
"In Herkimer, just around the holidays, just before the holidays. I wasn't even aware that he had moved back to this area. And I saw him, I yelled to him, he looked at me, said my name, said he was retired and kept right on walking," Copperwheat said.
