LEWIS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Plans for a Lewis County office building are moving forward.

Legislators voted earlier this week to give the go ahead for bids to start coming in.

The 45,000 foot two story building will consolidate a number of county departments. It would be located on county property on Stowe Street in Lowville.

The project is estimated to cost about $11 million. The board of legislators chairman estimates a onetime two percent tax increase, to help cover the cost.

Once bids are received, lawmakers will vote on the project.
