SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse man accused in a Christmas Eve beating death has been found guilty of second degree murder. Police said Craig Owens killed his 18-year-old girlfriend, Latisha Hayes, in a home on Steuben Street on December 24th, 2011.
Owens faces a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
