Student arrested for allegedly having gun in school parking lot
ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- One student was arrested after allegedly bringing a gun to the Colton-Pierrepont School parking lot. Sawyer Pignona, 16, was arrested and is facing three charges including criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds.
School officials say students reported seeing an individual in the car waving what appeared to be a gun. The school was immediately put on lock down, and police were called.
Once police arrived, Pignona was taken into custody without incident. Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are planned.
Pignona was arraigned and is being held on $10,000 cash bail.
After-school activities were canceled on Monday, and the school is closed today due to the winter weather.
