WYOMING COUNTY, N.Y. -- The man convicted of raping and killing a prostitute in Deerfield back in 2007 has been found dead in his prison cell. Craig Ingersoll was found hanging by a pair of shoelaces in his Attica State Prison cell Tuesday night.

Ingersoll was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison back in February. He was found guilty of second degree murder in November.

Ingersoll raped and killed Jennifer Bennett, before dumping her body behind the Deerfield Fire Department in 2007. It was five years however, before DNA evidence linked Ingersoll to the case.
