Reports surface of NCAA investigating SU men’s basketball team

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- For the second straight year, reports of a NCAA investigation taking aim at the SU basketball team have surfaced, just as they get ready to start their run in the tournament.

A CBS Sports report says the organization is looking into a wide range of possible violations. That report says the school has received a preliminary inquiry.

Last March, Yahoo Sports reported that SU was being investigated for violating its own drug policies.

In a news conference in San Jose Wednesday evening, Coach Jim Boeheim didn't have much of a comment about the new report.

"Same story that they had last year at this time. I guess that's the annual, I guess next year we'll get it again,” Boeheim said.

“Are you aware of the school receiving a notice of allegations?” a reporter asked.

Boeheim replied, “I just made my comment."

The news comes as the Orange prepare to face the Montana Grizzlies Thursday night at the HP Pavilion.
