SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Things are really going to start to get exciting for basketball fans today as the bulk of the opening round games in the NCAA Tournament begin today. As for the Syracuse Orange, they are getting ready to take on Montana at around 10 p.m.

This comes as a new CBS-sports report says the NCAA is looking into a wide range of possible school violations. Coach Boeheim didn't have much to say about the report and right now the focus is on the tournament itself.

The team held an open practice last night and some Orange fans fortunate to make the trip out west are optimistic the team will find success. Fans we spoke with are a little upset that that the news of the ongoing investigation was made public right before the tournament begins.

Orange fan Neil Gold said, "I think it's really really annoying that an investigation that has been going on for well over a year, whether the anonymous chose to put this out the day before we're playing in the NCAA tournament, it's not the first time that's happened and it's very upsetting."

Orange fan Scott Baumgartner said, "I don't know anything about the investigation, but it looks like a little more mud is being thrown, not sure how to react to that."

In the wake of the report, most fans just want to focus on basketball and are hoping for the best.

Remember, you can catch tonight's game between SU and Montana around 9:57 p.m. Eastern. The game will be on Tru TV, which is Channel 52 or HD Channel 884 on Time Warner Cable.
