Funding for Lockheed Martin MEADS program

UNITED STATES -- Lockheed Martin's MEADS program has secured funding for another year. On Thursday, Congress passed legislation that includes $380 million in funding for the program.
In a statement from Syracuse Vice President of Operations Greg Larioni, he said, in part:
“We are grateful for Senator Schumer’s efforts. Senator Schumer’s steadfast support has helped secure MEADS funding that can be used through the end of the design and development program..."
The MEADS system allows a missile to be instantly turned 360 degrees to destroy a target, giving the military an advantage in fighting overhead threats, no matter where they originate from.
