Lansing School District sends out alert about suspicious man
TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Lansing School District is warning parents about a suspicious man seen attempting to talk to kids in the district.
On Wednesday, the district sent a letter home telling parents that a man in a blue sedan stopped and tried to talk to an elementary student waiting for the bus near Collins Road in Freeville. When the child's parent came outside, the man drove off.
On Thursday, the district sent home two letters notifying parents of two more incidents in which a man in a blue sedan approached a student walking on Goodman Road in Groton as well as two students at the town park.
The district says anyone with information regarding the incidents should call the superintendent or the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office.
