Man charged with DWI held without bail
The man deputies said hit and killed his girlfriend with his car is being held without bail.
Joseph Bertrand has been charged with a DWI in what he called a freak accident.
It happened around 1:00 am Sunday morning on Swansea Avenue, just outside of Syracuse.
Deputies said Michele Lozipone, forty-two years old, got out of the car after arguing with Bertrand.
They say Bertrand then hit her while she was walking home.
They said he stopped immediately and called 911.
Lozipone was pronounced dead at the scene.
