As another summer of Giants training camp closes, fans wonder if it's the last time they'll see Big Blue in the Capital Region. It's something they worry about each season, but our Solomon Syed reports, this year, it may just be the case.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- As the world champion New York Giants signed off from Albany, their fans coached them on the perfect return strategy.

"They belong in Albany!" one fan said.

"Oh my God I'd be furious if they didn't come back,” said another fan. “What would we have to look forward to at the end of the summer?"

But each year, the Giants could choose to lateral it back to New Jersey for camp and a team source tells YNN they must decide if it's worth coming all the way up to Albany for just one practice a day. Instead, the G-Men might run the option to avoid getting sacked by the weather.

"Coach, are you happy with the facilities here?” our reporter asked.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said, “Except for when it rains."

The one day it did rain during training camp, Coach Coughlin had to move his players into SEFCU Arena, which doesn't exactly have a football field. He doesn't want to contend with that again in the future.

"There's a challenge for the Giants because if they come here and it rains, four or five days and they lose four or five hours of practice time a day, that impacts what's going on with their team," Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings said.

Jennings says he's working with UAlbany officials on a playbook that might include a "practice bubble." The one currently on campus is too small and would need to be expanded and lined with turf. UAlbany declined comment for this story, but the fans know what they want.

"We're their family, this is their extended family," one person said.

"They've been here for 17 years, they've won two Super Bowls. I'm very superstitious, so if they stopped coming here, I'd be really upset and worried for them," said another person.

Not Coach Coughlin.

"Last summer we were home, didn't turn out to bad," he said.

The Giants are expected to make a final decision on next summer's camp this fall.
