VA hospital receives funding
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Congressman Dan Maffei has announced more than $7.2 million for the Syracuse VA Hospital.

This funding comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The money will be used for non-recurring maintenance, such as a roof replacement and lighting upgrade. A one-time payment of $250 to eligible veterans and survivors will also be made by the hospital to help with the effects of the current economy.

Existing payment records will be used to determine eligibility. Payments will begin in June.
