SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The first beam is installed at what will soon be the new emergency services building at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.
The crane was installed this past weekend at the site and Monday morning, the crane moved the first beam into place at North Townsend and Laurel Streets.
The hospital broke ground on the $220 million expansion in 2009. It's the largest project in the hospital's 140-year history.
The emergency services building will include an intensive care until, private patient rooms, more operating rooms and a data center.
