SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Construction is now underway for Centro's new transfer hub in Syracuse. Wednesday, crews were busy getting to work on the project.

The new hub will replace an old Red Cross building at the intersections of Adams, South Salina, and Warren streets. The hub will be a full bus station with restrooms and vending machines.

Once complete riders will be able to transfer onto all Centro buses under one roof, avoiding bad weather and reducing the amount of congestion around South Salina and Fayette streets.

The hub is expected to open in October of next year.
