SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Educators, community groups and business leaders came together in Syracuse Saturday to discuss the issue of sustainability. The conference called "Bridging Sustainability Education" brought about 60 people together at the Center of Excellence Building to figure out best strategies to get their message out there.

Leaders say everything from recycling to tree planting plays a roll in keeping our environment and economy sustainable.

"Sustainability means that it keeps on going and will be around and everything is connected.. And if people don't get the message that we're all connected it's everybody for themselves, or every system for themselves, pretty soon the whole thing falls," said Mark Naef.

This conference was held in collaboration with a nationwide effort to educate the public about sustainability.
