GEDDES, N.Y. -- The sounds of an auction are ringing across the New York State Fairgrounds this weekend in conjunction with the Syracuse Nationals.
Forty pinstripers have teamed up with the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center for an event known as "Artie's Party.", organized by well known pinstriper Art Schilling.
All the artists are creating pieces right at the fairgrounds, which are then auctioned off to the highest bidder. Every cent raised goes directly to McMahon/Ryan to help abused children.
"When I heard about McMahon/Ryan and what they do and how they go about doing it, it was a no-brainer, I mean it's such a wonderful organization and doing such a good job, so anything we can do to help them, we're going to help them,” said Art Schilling, "Artie's Party" organizer.
"The pinstriper's are an amazing group of men and women that literally dedicate their own time and money to come and help us all weekend long. Words can't actually express the gratitude that I have for them,” said Julie Cecile, McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center Executive Director.
The auctions continue on Sunday in the Horticulture Building at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
