TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Marine from Ithaca is critically injured while serving in Afghanistan's southern Helmand providence. According to his family, Corporal Christopher Bordoni, 21, was wounded in an attack by a suicide bomber who rode a motorcycle into the area Bordoni was patrolling. It was his second tour of duty in the area.
His family reports Bordoni was taken to a hospital in Germany, and is now at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. The family says Bordoni was planning to come home the first week of February.
