SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- AAA of Western and Central New York announced new investments in regional tourism.

The company introduced two new travel initiatives during a press conference at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo to demonstrate their attempts to strengthen tourism in Central New York.

AAA has acquired two new state-of-the-art motorcoaches to be used for a variety of tours in the area and will feature regional destinations in its quarterly magazine, called "Member Connection."

Tourism in Central New York is reportedly a $1.7 billion industry and officials at AAA said it's all about showing what there is to offer.

"Let's face it, all these destinations, Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse and everything in between, there's tremendous opportunity and just wonderful things to experience in our Upstate region," said Wally Smith, Vice President of AAA Western and CNY.

The current issue of "Member Connection" highlights the Best of Syracuse.
