There’s no question Saquan Evans was at the scene of a shooting where a Syracuse toddler was killed back in 2010. The question in his trial, currently underway in Onondaga County Court, is whether he was the one who pulled the trigger. Our Kat De Maria has the latest.

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A full jury was seated on Monday for the trial of Saquan Evans in the death of 20-month-old Rashad Walker, Jr.

Police said Evans fired shots into a van on Coolidge Avenue in November 2010, killing young Rashad. They said Evans is a member of the Bricktown gang, and was targeting the toddler's father, who is allegedly a member of the rival 110 gang. They said that the shooting was in retaliation for the murder of Henninger High School basketball star Kihary Blue days earlier.

Evans and a dozen other alleged Bricktown gang members have since been indicted on federal conspiracy charges.

Evans faces 25 years to life in prison on charges of second-degree murder locally, but could face the death penalty as part of the federal case.
