PENNSYLVANIA -- A Pennsylvania man convicted of killing two Bradford County sheriff’s deputies will not be executed this week as expected. Dustin Briggs' execution was to be Thursday, but earlier this week, the U.S District Court issued an order to postpone it because of a petition they expect to be made to try to overturn the case.
The 34-year-old was convicted of shooting and killing Deputies Christopher Burgert of Sayre and Michael Vankuren of Warren Center in March of 2004. The officials were serving Briggs with a warrant when he shot them.
