ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- DeWitt Police are investigating the discovery of remains found near the Shoppingtown Mall.

Police tell us that two 13-year-old boys were exploring in the woods near the overflow parking lot at the mall.

Saturday afternoon when they stumbled upon skeletal remains. Investigators said the remains are human. They are now searching the missing persons database to try to identify who it may be.

The bones have been removed from the scene, but police still have the area taped off while they search for any other clues that may help in their investigation.
