SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Time Warner Cable's Connect a Million Minds program has teamed up with singer will.i.am to launch the competition called "Wouldn't It Be Cool If."
The goal is to get children to unleash their imagination and pitch ideas for what would make their community and country a better place.
Wednesday night, a group of about 20 boy scouts laid out their ideas to local judges.
"Quite frankly, it's impressive some of the ideas these kids come up with. It's really inventive, well thought out. Some very good, I think, very pro-citizen type things to make the community a better place. If adults were half as inventive as these kids competing here tonight, the world would be a better place," said Scott Armstrong, with Longhouse Council Boy Scouts.
The competition is for children ages 10 to 15.
