ALBANY, N.Y. - The top-ranked Cicero-North Syracuse girls basketball team ended its standout season and Breanna Stewart ended her standout career with a no-doubt victory on Sunday, claiming the program's first Federation title with a 60-28 rout of Murry Bergtraum from New York City.
Stewart scored 22 points, setting a tournament record with 64 in the two games, grabbed 15 rebounds, setting another tournament record with 38, and had six blocks. The UConn-bound star ends her five-year varsity career with 2,367 points, by far the most in Section III history.
The victory also avenged a loss to Murry Bergtraum in last year's Class AA semifinals.
Cicero-North Syracuse ends the season 23-3.
