Crunch in driver's seat of playoff race

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch are marching toward their first playoff berth in four years after winning 10 of 13 games in March to move into a tie for 7th place in the Eastern Conference.
The Crunch have registered points in eight straight games and have played in four straight shootouts---winning three of them---to move into a tie with Manchester for the 7th seed in the playoffs with eight games to play.
Syracuse will play six of its final eight games on the road starting at the 9th-place Adirondack Phantoms Friday night and continuing at last-place Binghamton Saturday.
