ITHACA, N.Y. -- An Ithaca man has died three months after being injured while fighting with the U.S Marines in Afghanistan.

Twenty-one-year-old Corporal Christopher Bordoni's family says he was wounded by a suicide bomber while serving in the Helmland province.

Bordoni joined the Marines after graduating from Ithaca High School and was deployed twice to Afghanistan. He passed away at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he was receiving treatment.

A fundraiser for the family will be held April 21st.
