UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica's F.X. Matt Brewery secured the very first brewing license after the repeal of prohibition 79 years ago this weekend and they're getting ready to celebrate it with charity.

F.X. Matt teams up with Saint Elizabeth's Hospital every year for their Prohibition Repeal Party. The brewery hopes to raise about $50,000 for the hospital through the fundraiser.
The celebration of legalized three-point-two percent alcohol beer will be on the 27th this year.

Fred Matt, of the F.X. Matt Brewery said, “There's tickets now, essentially we just want you to come. It's, you know, we'll have a lot of beer, we'll have food, music, and it's a really fun night at the brewery."

The brewery is also kicking off their summer-long United Way fundraiser, Saranac Thursdays next month.
