WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The City of Watertown Police Chief announced his retirement after a 30-year career with the department. Chief Joseph Goss was appointed chief in 2006 after working as a patrolman, detective, sergeant, and lieutenant in Watertown. He will step down effective June 29th.
The Watertown City Manager released a statement on the chief's retirements. In it, she wrote, “Chief Goss’ contributions to the department will endure for years to come, especially in terms of the strengthened work ethic and the enhanced professionalism inculcated throughout the Watertown Police force."
