ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Leadership Greater Syracuse hosted its annual Community Education Day Wednesday.

The workshop and luncheon gave people a chance to learn about what's happening with Syracuse's economic development and green initiatives in the area. Major employers in Central New York also attended the event to answer questions about the job market and how people can find jobs in those fields.

LGS members said the event is intended to help the Central New York community as a whole.

Sherry Mossotti, CEO Leadership Greater Syracuse said, “See, we believe that if people are involved and they're doing good things, whether it be serving on a board, helping a non-profit, working in government or the political system or just in one of our great businesses here in Central New York, and understanding how the community works, we can actually help to move that community forward."

LGS has trained more than 1,000 community leaders and collaborates with many companies throughout the area, including YNN.
