SOLVAY, N.Y. -- The Solvay Union Free School District has finalized its budget for next year.
The district began the process with a $1 million deficit. They were able to trim it down through the use of reserve funds and layoffs.
The district will lose 15 positions, most of them teachers.
The nearly $29 million plan is actually less than the current year's budget, but the tax rate will go up about 3.6 percent.
Voters will weigh in on the budget by casting their vote May 15th.
