SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A traffic stop in the city leads to three teens being taken into custody, after police discover two of them were carrying weapons.
Members of Syracuse Police's Crime Reduction Team pulled over Erik Burch, 17, of Liverpool Friday night for going the wrong way on a one way street. Burch was driving without a license, and as officers continued to investigate they discovered that two male passengers, who are 14 and 15 years old, were concealing guns.
The officers found a Remington rifle on the older teen and a loaded shotgun on the 14-year-old. Both were arrested after a struggle and sent to Hillbrook Detention Center.
The driver tried to run while the other two boys were being investigated. He was also arrested and jailed at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
