OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Oswego County woman was arrested for choking her elderly mother. State Police said Patricia Hanifan, 53, of Scriba choked her 93-year-old mother during a domestic dispute. State Police said Hanifan also hit her mom on the side of the head.

Hanifan is being charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and is being held at Oswego County Jail on $500 bail.

With help from Oswego County Adult Protective services, the victim was placed in a safe living arrangement.
