ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A car crash in St. Lawrence County claimed the life of a woman. The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office said Eleanor Uffer, 74, was driving down Route 11 when she crossed into the oncoming lane and was hit head on.

Uffer was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the other car, Zachary Benson, 20, and his passenger, Dominique Huckins, 25, were both taken to Claxton Hepburn Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

The investigation is ongoing but no criminal charges are expected at this time.
