WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Girl Scouts from NYPENN Pathways are learning the importance of science, technology, engineering and math hands-on.
More than a dozen girls took part in the "Who Says Science is Just for Boys?" program at Watertown's Sci-Tech Center. Girl Scouts learned about data, how it is sent and different ways it is encoded. Many of those taking part in the activities say they look forward to exploring careers where they can help advance this technology.
Girl Scout Cassandra Hondro said, "We kind of have to set stage for the future because this generation is going to be the next one so if you don't set then they're going to stay low when you are older."
Time Warner Cable is the parent company of YNN and we are committed to the Connect a Million Minds program, inspiring youth to develop science, technology, engineering and math skills.
