ITHACA, N.Y. -- Jurors were shown DNA evidence in the trial of an Ithaca man accused of murder.

Corbin Whyte, 27, is charged in the shooting of 47-year-old Paul Garcia. Garcia died of a single gunshot wound to the chest on December 7th, 2010.

Garcia was found dead in the parking lot of the Maple Hill apartments where both Garcia and Whyte lived off and on.

Thursday marked the fifth day of testimony. The prosecution called expert witnesses who testified about blood and DNA evidence found on Whyte's clothing and plastic bags.

The prosecution seeks to prove Whyte either shot Garcia, or acted with another person to commit his murder.

The defense argues that no solid evidence places Whyte at the scene of the crime.

The defense is expected to begin calling witnesses next week.
