SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse blasted three home runs on Thursday to beat Durham 5-1, giving the Chiefs a series win for the first time in their last four tries.
Jim Negrych and Carlos Maldonado each hit a solo shot and Xavier Paul added a three-run homer to account for all of the Chiefs' runs, and Yunesky Maya made them stand on the mound as he allowed one unearned run over seven innings for his second win of the season.
Syracuse continues its homestand with a four-game series against Rochester starting Friday. All four games will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports.
