CAMILLUS, N.Y. - Thursday's showdown between No. 6-ranked West Genesee and No. 8 and unbeaten Liverpool was expected to be a tight battle, but it turned out to be the complete opposite as the Wildcats ran wild for a 14-4 victory.
Teddy Glesener had five goals and two assists, Tim Barber added a hat trick, and Scott Sidnam made 11 saves to lead West Genesee (14-1), which likely locked up a top seed in the Section III Class A playoffs with one regular-season game remaining.
Nick Kline had a hat trick and an assist for Liverpool (14-1), which was hoping to make a statement after losing to the Wildcats in triple-overtime in the sectional finals last year.
