A Syracuse man is in custody for allegedly poisoning his brother's two children. YNN’s Erin Clarke joined us from the newsroom to tell us more about what happened.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Aaron Hickman, 20, is accused of pouring bleach in the milk of his brother's one- and three-year-old sons. This happening after he got into an argument with his brother.
Hickman lives at house on Seymour Street with his brother, his brother's girlfriend and their children.
Police say Hickman and his brother had an argument and Hickman was told to leave the home. Hickman was apparently angry that he was being told to leave and before he left, Hickman poured bleach in to the children's milk that was in the refrigerator. The next morning, the children drank the milk and became violently ill. They were taken to Upstate University Hospital, treated and released.
Hickman has been charged with second degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned and is being held in the Onondaga County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.
His next appearance in court is on May 30th.
