LAFAYETTE, N.Y. -- A woman is taken to the University Hospital following an ATV accident near Route 20 in Lafayette.

According to officials, the woman was driving the ATV on Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard property where she hit a tree.

The victim was conscious and breathing while crews worked on her. She was taken to University Hospital via helicopter.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department, State Police and multiple fire departments responded to the call due to the accident occurring so far off the road.

New York State Police are investigating what caused the accident.
