NEW YORK STATE -- It will be a rematch in the new 21st Congressional District as a familiar face takes over the Republican ticket.

Matt Doheny won a landslide victory over political newcomer Kellie Greene. That means Doheny will once again face democrat Bill Owens, the same man he lost to just two years ago. But this time around, Doheny has an advantage the Republicans haven't had in years.

"So for the first time since Congressman McHugh, what we've done is the voters have gone ahead and said we want to have a united ticket. We want to have a republican who has the conservative and independence party lines and that is what happened here tonight," Doheny said.

Doheny also says the redrawn district lines create an opportunity for Republicans to claim the seat.
