NEW YORK STATE -- A statewide campaign to recruit volunteer firefighters is coming to the big screen.

Commercials filmed earlier this year on behalf of the Fireman's Association of the State of New York, or FASNY, started appearing in movie theatres Friday.

The campaign is called "Is there a fire in you?" And ads have been running on billboards, the radio and TV with the hope of attracting 15,000 new volunteer firefighters.

In Central New York, the FASNY commercials will run at the Carousel and Shoppingtown malls in Syracuse and the Ithaca Mall.
