CICERO, N.Y. -- Two people have been brought to safety after an early morning fire in Cicero. The fire broke out around 1:00 am at the home at 5790 Sutton Drive.
When crews arrived they spotted a grandmother and child on a porch roof. They were brought to safety.
The fire was put out in about 30 minutes. However, it rekindled shortly before 7:00 am.
"There's extreme damage to the house originally and we had a collapse on two sides of the structure. And, it's impending collapse just from the amount of damage that the fire caused and the amount of water that we tried to put on this here to try to get it out," said Ron Florczykowski, Cicero Fire First Assistant Chief.
The Red Cross is assisting the two people that lived in the home. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
