WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Dozens of Christmas trees have been decked out in Watertown as preparations are underway for the tenth year of the Festival of Trees.

The event raises money for youth services at the Watertown Family YMCA and at the Foundation for Samaritan Medical Center.

Fifty-four specially decorated Christmas trees will be on display in the lobby of the Dulles State Office Building on Washington Street from Friday until Sunday. The trees are sponsored by local businesses and decorated by their employees and volunteers.

"It's just a wonderful family event, so be sure to come down Friday, Saturday or Sunday and stroll through. It is unbelievable and there is a big gala on Friday night where some of the award winning trees actually get auctioned off and so all of that money also goes towards the event," said Jane Schmitt, Festival of Trees volunteer.

Tickets for Friday night's gala are $70.

It is free to visit the display Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
