BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The City of Binghamton tried to stay ahead of the storm. Mayor Matt Ryan says it’s crucial people avoid parking in the streets. Crews will be out and about overnight clearing the roads as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Mayor Ryan also says that avoiding unnecessary travel will put the city at an advantage.
"We need everybody’s help to make sure that our city streets are safe, our sidewalks are safe and that we can safely move emergency traffic anywhere in the city," Mayor Ryan said.
Mayor Ryan adds that free parking has been made available in the city’s downtown parking ramps, as well as numerous parks.
