CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- Runners in Cazenovia battled the winter chill this weekend with some exercise and good food.

Hundreds of people competed in the ninth annual Chilly Chili 5K Run and Walk. The event benefits Cazenovia Children’s House, which offers child care and preschool programs.

Organizers say it's amazing to see how the run has grown over the years.

"It's hard to believe. Nine years ago, when we had our first little race we had over 300 and now, we're close to 900 today," said Penny Noll, Cazenovia Children’s House Director.

After the race, runners got to enjoy a Chili Cook-Off Party at Cazenovia College. It featured food and drinks from several area restaurants and breweries.
